ABOUT ABOUT

Join us as we celebrate fifty years of theatre under the stars! For this milestone, our season will include four shows that have been past favorites at the Barn. Next up is Arthur Miller’s dark classic, The Crucible.

The Crucible is a 1953 play by American playwright Arthur Miller. It is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem Witch Trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692–93. The play is a dark reflection on the secrets that can eat up a previously tight knit community, and the hysteria that can destroy an entire town when people with bad intentions come into power.

CONTENT WARNING: this show contains mentions of witchcraft, hanging & death, imagery of nooses, & depictions of violence. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
