It's time to Brush Up Your Shakespeare!
In fair Renaissance, where we lay our scene,
Two brothers, Nick and Nigel, strive for a playwright’s dream.
Yet lo! The Bard, that peacock Will Shakespeare, doth steal all praise and fame,
Leaving the Bottoms in shadow, with naught but toil and shame.
Desperate for glory, Nick seeks a soothsayer’s tongue,
Who foretells a future where “musicals” are sung!
Thus chaos doth ensue, with dancing eggs and rapping omelettes,
As they attempt to birth a play the world hath not yet met.
With love, ambition, and scrambled schemes entwined,
This tale doth mock the stage, and yet to it be kind.
A rollicking jest of art and fate’s design—
Where Something Rotten doth prove a joy divine!
